There is an application portal below. To become an LIT, you first sign up for the position using the below application. Then, you'll be invited to attend a Camp Spark Leadership Training Day before Camp Spark begins in July. We'll work with you to assign dates that you'll be at camp, and assess and grow our leadership skills throughout the summer!

Both are volunteer positions, but LIT gives you an opportunity to express your interest in teaching and leadership to us, and begin your training to get on track to become a Camp Spark leader. You'll work closely with current Camp Leaders to learn the ropes, and show us your leadership skills, individual skills, and special interests. -
A Camp Leader is a paid position. They are the instructors who teach the material and oversee the camp. An LIT is the step between a volunteer counsellor and a Leader. It requires a bit more commitment and some leadership development, as it is an on-ramp to Camp Leader status

Not excactly. Being an LIT shows us your interest in become a Leader in the future, and gives you a taste of what a Leadership role entails. Although the LIT program is an on-ramp to a leadership role, it is not a guarantee. We will be working closely with you throughout the summer, and assessing your skills, interests, and leadership abilities to find the right place for you!
You will receive an invitation to become a Camp Spark Leadership role for the following summer based off what we learned in your LIT training!

No problem! Being an LIT it a trial period for both you AND us. You get to see how you enjoy Camp Leadership, and and LIT isn't a direct entry into a Leadership position. Think of it as setting your course toward being Camp Leader, and if you're en route and want to change course, great! We're all learning and changing here!
