FIDDLE

PIANO

VOICE + SONGWRITING

Music has been proven to help young and old alike to find themselves, succeed in school, and to be more productive at work. Not only is it stupid fun to be able to play an instrument (everyone wants to be that guy who can whip out a guitar at a camp fire), but music helps to stimulate electrical activity of the brain so that the right and left hemispheres work in tandem.
Through music, you can achieve the full potential of the mind!

DEVAN BALLAGH

FIDDLE, VOICE

Devan started dancing under the tutelage of her mom, Janice, and continued on to take lessons from the renowned Tiffany Fewster and Chanda Gibson-Leahy. Her efforts paid off when she claimed the Canadian Stepdance Champion in both solo and group classes. Her original choreography has been the staple of the Ballaghs original dance routines and has brought their dance group, and some of her students to win multiple awards in the Ontario Stepdance circuit.

After obtaining her Fitness and Health Promotion Diploma from Conestoga College, and achieving her certifications for fitness, personal training and Functional Movement (FMS), she moved to Toronto to pursue training in the arts. While living in Toronto, Devan trained in all forms of dance at City Dance Corps, taking from the best of the best in teaching and in performing. Her focus in tap allowed her the opportunity to be involved with the Toronto Rhythm Initiative (TRI) and gave her the opportunity to experience improvisation and to study under the "greats"; Ayodele Cassel, Diane Montgomery and Lisa LaTouche (currently starring in the Broadway musical, "On Your Feet").

Upon moving home, Devan continued to actively train in both the arts and athletics and offered services in both to people of the community and beyond. Devan has been blessed to continue lessons with teachers who are still active in the theatre industry; Rebecca Poff, Wendy Ewert, Valerie Hawkins and take as many workshops as she can, including the Theatre Teachers Workshop held in New York City. Currently, Devan is working alongside the rest of the Ballaghs to promote their most recent album, "Arrow", in which she had a large role in the songwriting and arranging process. Recently, she and the Ballaghs have completed tours to the East Coast of Canada and their first European tour across Ireland.
